Issue: Minutes of Meetings

Iportant matters are agreed at IWUF Executive Board (EB) Meetings, IWUF Committee Meetings and at Congress, yet the practice of the IWUF Secretariat is to send out the minutes one year later, just before the next meeting.

This means there is no visibility of what was agreed to be actioned by when or by whom. This is a problem when EB and Committee Minutes in particular, contain key points of discussion and actions for implementation over the next 12 months.

Basically, unless a member takes their own notes, they have no record of the outcome of these important meetings.  It also means that no one can recall exactly what happened, which creates a high risk that the actions recorded in the eventual minutes may not accurately reflect what was agreed at the meetings.

IWUF defends this practice by saying that “it is not uncommon at all that the agenda and minutes are circulated just shortly before the meetings.”  It begs the question "why not?" if it is helpful to achieving our aims!

We believe that it is important for the integrity of Wushu, that matters of this nature should be of concern to the President of IWUF and priority given to ensure we have robust, transparent and modern business processes in place.
